Adirondack Museum (Blue Mountain Lake) — A step back in time to life in the Adirondacks when times were really rustic! Dozens of building in a picturesque setting. A day trip.
The Sagamore(Raquette Lake) — Tour one of the majestic Great Camps of the Guilded Age of the “Robber Barons” and discover how the real upper crust camped!
Fort Ricky Children’s Discovery Zoo (Rome) — A great place for kids of all ages to interact with native and some exotic wildlife.
Herkimer Diamond Mines (Herkimer) — Bring your own tools or rent them there — this is fun for all ages and less than a half-hour away!
Enchanted Forest/Water Safari (Old Forge) — Pick a warm day and enjoy the largest water fun park in the state. Discount tickets are available at the Trail’s End Camp Store.
Turning Stone Casino (Oneida) — Gambling, floor shows and dining 24-hours a day. Only 45 minutes from the campground and a fun place to spend the evening for many adults!
Lunch or Dinner Cruise (On Raquette Lake) — Enjoy great food while you have a guided tour of the lake and its colorful history. (Reservations required.)
Adirondack Scenic Railroad (Remsen/Utica/Old Forge) — Pick up the train only 5 minutes away and ride to Old Forge to spend the day and return.
Hiking and Biking — Many folks find it plenty walking and biking around the campground. The nearest Adirondack Park Trailhead is approximately 20 minutes away..
Woodsmen Field Days (Boonville) -- The week of August every year, Boonville, NY hosts this annual "lumberjack games" style event!
Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts - (Remsen) -- The third weekend of September every year. Street fair with lots of vendors and plenty of good food!
